MASARYK ’S APPROACH TO MASTER JAN HUS AND HIS PLACE IN THE CZECH HISTORY (THE PART OF THE CZECH HISTORY IMPORTANCE DISPUTE)

Kapustová, Irena
In: , p. 7 - 13. ISBN:

Abstract

In the article Masaryk’s multilevel approach to Master Jan Hus is being solved in the context of the controversy about the Czech history importance and a possible benefit for the contemporary historians´ attitude towards Jan Hus – sociological, philosophical, religious and purely historical view of one of the most important personalities in the Czech history with the overlap into the European history. In Tomas G. Masaryk´s work the main thing is not the complexity and the depth of the historical approach to the particular person or history as such, but the fact that he sees everything from many aspects and becomes the pathfinder of the multiperspective approach which is becoming very popular nowadays. Most Masaryk’s quotations in this article should prove the author’s conclusions, above all the different insight into the particular term (notion), into the sense of the Czech history or into the specific personality during various periods of the historical development.

THE RECEPTION OF HOMER’S ILIAD IN THE PERIOD OF THE BULGARIAN REVIVAL

Spassova, Andriana
In: , p. 14 - 22. ISBN:

Abstract

The text will observe the adaptation of an exemplary work like the Iliad of Homer in the period of the Bulgarian Revival. Very significant is the scientific reflection on the familiar trend of „artisticre-creation“ of „redrawing“ of the source text to the expectations of the perceived literature. Not surprisingly the reception of Homer creates a constructive field for the critical thinking in the cultural situation in the Bulgarian national Revival. The new type of readership builds up from the self-knowledge of the new type of literary criticism.

All the results of measurements, we mutually compared and evaluated using statistical methods. The parameters of body composition was recorded intersex differences, but not statistically significant. Statistical differences were observed in the total body water (TBW) and the level of the basal metabolic rate (BMR). The parameters showing the state of nutrition, protein mass (PM) and the mineral mass (MM), we also confirmed the statistically significant differences intersexual. THE USE OF RELIGIOUS MOTIFS IN TEACHING LITERATURE AT HIGH SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES IN BULGARIA

Pileva, Maria
In: , p. 30 - 38. ISBN:

Abstract

This paper addresses the importance of the thematic criticism and recovery of the place of the religious motifs in the literary analysis. The objective of the presented paper is, first, to identify some key aspects in the development of motif theory based on the achievements of well-known researchers in the field of thematology. Furthermore, the paper addresses the issue of the partial disregard of Biblical motifs in Bulgarian educational materials after 1989 as a result of communist heritage. The research question concerns the effect of introducing the Biblical imagery and motifs on the learners’ literary interpretive competences. It also tries to point out possible strategies for improving the reception of such motifs and offers an innovative way of introducing such textual elements. Since the motifs are not explicitly formulated in the original authors work, every lecturer must be able to identify them and to determine their place in the structure of that work. The paper argues that teaching should focus only on the study of the original Biblical texts but on pointing to the way certain Biblical elements function and on drawing the learners’ attention to the fact that their meaning can change depending on the context. The paper emphasizes the need for including religious motifs in the textbooks and instruction materials for learning and teaching literature, as well as the importance of Biblical knowledge for cultural growth and shaping aesthetic taste.
